''On average, UNICOA  students receive financial aid and scholarships for more than 2/3 of the cost of room, board, and fees''.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

At UNICOA, we provide students with a remarkable educational opportunity. We award a 4-year, tuition scholarship to every admitted student. This scholarship works in conjunction with any other grants or scholarships students receive to completely cover the cost of tuition.Additional costs, such as room, board, and fees, may also be covered by the College, depending upon your financial need. Nearly all of our students receive additional aid for these costs.

Why? Because it is our mission to provide educational opportunity to students of great academic promise who have limited financial resources. In short, we think students are worth more than the tuition they can afford.

Tuition and Other Costs

Every UNICOA student is awarded a 4-year, tuition scholarship. The amount of the scholarship will vary depending on financial need, and the presence of any additional outside scholarships. The important thing is that, together, these resources cover the entire cost of tuition, which totals $25,500 for the 2009-2010 school year. The actual cost to students and their families is $0.

But at UNICOA education isn't free. We have the same financial obligations that other colleges do. The difference is our endowment. It's a resource made available by people who believe exceptional students shouldn't be denied an outstanding education. This endowment helps offset the costs of higher education and allows our students to focus on their schooling, not how they're going to pay for it.

In many cases, we can even offer additional financial aid to assist with room, board, and other fees—not loans—according to each student's need. Simply put, students at UNICOA  pay what they can afford.

Room, Board, and Fees

UNICOA  students and their families are expected to pay what they can afford toward the cost of room, board, and fees. Nearly all of our students receive additional aid and scholarships to assist with these costs due to financial need.

The total costs, before aid, for room, board and fees for 2009-10 are:

Room $3,082 / year
Board $2686 / year
Fees $ 876 / year
Total $6,644 / year

However, for 2009-2010 on average students will pay $2500 ,and many students pay $0 their first year. Earnings from the Work Program can be used to cover these expenses.

All admitted students are entitled to scholarships to cover tuition, board and room, admitted students are required to pay $2500 security deposit, which will be used for emergency, and living expenses while on campus. Calculated balance will be handed over to students at the end of their first semester in college. Part of this money will be used for registration for courses, student union fees and other extracurricular activities in which the students will have to participate like field trips and games.

Books and Personal Expenses
The costs incurred for books, supplies, and personal expenses (entertainment, toiletries, etc.) will vary from student to student. However, most students will spend the following amounts for these costs:
Books and Supplies    $750 / year
                                                           Personal Expenses     $1,376 / year
                                                           Transportation          $426 / year
Earnings from the Work Program can be used to offset these costs. Students are able to charge books and supplies at the College Bookstore and have the amount deducted over time from their paycheck.
